Mohegan Sun Poker

I lost a day at Mohegan Sun Poker Pocono Downs and won!

I caught Pocono Downs Poker fever.

Ok guys, sorry!  I never made it to my article on the “Live at the bike” online broadcast, I will.  Promise.  It’s worth the wait too, trust me. What can I say, I play poker and I got the bug. I’m a true rounder and good thing too.  Man, we had fun last night at Mohegan Sun.  The table was filled with fun loving poker players, well most of em. Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs, for me anyways was the place to be.  Adding to the fun I pulled a 3rd in the $65 Nl tourney.  $441.00.  I grinded the small stack to third, when it should have been no better than 5th or 6th.  Cool!

Most of all, I cashed even with having a  hex placed on me. Listen to this one.  Some goofball named David was super rude to one of my girls in the game. No good.  Never mess with a Big Daddy girl David.  He made a really vile gesture to her and if I had seen it, I’d have had him booted. (Tongue through fingers, cmon that’s 7th grade stuff) Anyways, later when we hit the final table he returned and started running his mouth big time.  Big Daddy’s girl was upset so I sent him packing!  About five minutes later this loon came back and shook his rock and roll fingers at me and declared he put a curse on me.  Dick.  lol.  Then he ran off.  I can’t run anymore but I wish I would have tripped him.  Would have been classic.

I’ve seen it all at a poker table but that one took the cake. A hex towards Big Daddy.  If shes willing I’ll write a story on the newest Big Daddy girl!  (Not just anyone can become a Big Daddy girl) Up to her and her husband.  I love poker and all the great “stories” and man, we had em in spades last night.  Overall the action was really good.  Mix of really good players and a few fish.  I was even able to take Mohegan Sun Poker room pro out of the action, Mike McDermott.  Mike, Insta call man?  Really? Read a book Mike!  (Inside joke)

No Mohegan Sun poker for me tonight.  Tonight we party!

Good friend Nick is having a birthday bash tonight at the Elks and Big Daddy will be there.  I had the privilege of taking this young lad on his first trip to Vegas! Let’s just say he cracked his Vegas cherry hard, like a rock star! He stayed with me at the Venetian during my WSOP gig.  Him and I had one of the most insane nights ever, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas right!  Let’s just say he had the dream trip!  Gamblin and carrying on, beer and uncountable shots “Irish car bombs”, dancing, nudity and ahhh – Nick has some moves with the ladies!  He rocked the suite at the Venetian.  I was a great wing man and he landed that 747 like a pro.  Man the band was great that night!  I somehow don’t see nights like this happening at Mohegan Sun Poker at Pocono Downs but if it did, Nick would have to be a part of it.  Happy Birthday Nick!  Happy birthday bud, even if you do like the Yankees.  Go Phillies!

If you’re hitting Mohegan Sun Poker today.. Avoid David and his hex and flop quads all day!

Cheers.

Yea Insta Call —lol I I didnt raise from the button on your BB once for over the hour I was at your table.(which is what I think people who read books say you are supposed to do) LOL You were some what short on chips I had a stack and made the raise with the A4 of hearts yea subject hand but vs two random blind hands barring a reraise i think I am good. SB folds and you think about it for a few and call. The flop comes really forget the whole flop but the Ace hits and and one heart. You sly devil you –lol check to me and I make a 6-8K bet really forget the amount and it comes to you and you put on your own Oscar award winning performance although it was short– and raise all in. I already did the math and knew if you tried it that I was pot committed and was calling. Sure enough you roll over the AK and win the pot. Cool move you got me. It put me down to 14K in chips as we combined to the final Two tables and I knew i had to gain some chips and fast if I was going to make it deep. I then start getting hands and got the 1.5 Times double up with the pocket kings then got a few more pocket pairs and picked up the blinds and antes with no one calling the raise– was thinking to myself I am one big hand from being right in this— then I dump about half my chips with a good pocket pair and the board comes with 2 overs and all suited and not mine it got checked but the turn was bet and someone went all in I had to give it up so now again was back to like 17-21K –DAM then with blinds at 2-4K I look down at AQ heart there really isnt an amount I can raise so I go all in to my surprise i get the guy to my left who was shorter than I calls then your newest Big Daddy girl asks for a count I knew then I was not only up against one pair but two— she called and sure enough I was in a three way race 77 for less and covered by JJ—- the flop comes with an Ace in the window but at the bottom of the three cards is that dam Jack—- the turn made it interesting giving me a straight draw so i was now dead to a King. But no dice. Glad to hear she didnt waste my chips and made it to the end— and good for you too making it to Third— talk soon.

Thanks Mike, yeah.. Some say I’m “tight tricky” whatever that means, buy a book and look it up. Listen, you won like a million of these tourneys so thanks for letting me have that one and not sucking out. As to the Big Daddy girls, we might want to start a new rule. Never mess with a Big Daddy girl with a nice rack… I mean stack! ha ha .. I’ll tell you this.. not just anyone gets the BD tag. You have to earn it. She did. Not only was she hot, she was a talented poker player who rolled with the boys just fine. Sadly, I think she got frustrated and tired in the end and went in with a hand that with some thinking the next day, probably has he a bit upset with herself. Bottom line, she’s a good player. Man, how about that chip leader “M&M” from Berwick Pa. He’s got game but man it’s a loose one. I’ll be writing about him soon. A bit of a backlog with my writing at the moment. The players at Mohegan Sun Poker at Pocono Downs are really good for the most part. These games can be tough. Better luck Mike. I learn a lot from watching you play. Funny how you never read a poker book. You sure man? If the my newest BD girl is reading this.. I want to mention your name, but A. I don’t know how to spell it and well.. I never got to ask you if it was cool that I do, let me know. YOU know who you are.

BD,

NC boy headed up to PA for a few days to play at MS@PD. Played there a few days last year, not long after poker room opened. I am a local rounder here in NC, enjoyed reading some insight on some of the local knowledge.
